Trust in the Lord
Psalm 147: 10 “His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”
Living a life of purpose and meaning is a matter of who you put your trust in. You can either trust in yourself and your ability to do things your own way or surrender the control of your whole life to God. The choice is yours. God has given us the exercise of free will.
It is easy to be tempted to trust in what we have, what we have achieved in life, our status, and fame, and neglect the one who gave us the power to be what we are. Our fallen nature will always lead us that way but as believers, we have to be reminded that the very breath of life we breathe is not ours. God gave it to us and he can take it away at any time.
Horses and chariots are the pride of a commander and strike fear into a soldier on the battlefield. But God is not impressed with the strength of horses. David wrote: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” (Psalm 20:7) There’s nothing wrong with having horses and chariots then or battle tanks and planes today for warfare, as long as our confidence and hope are not in them. We will never go wrong if we adhere to the words of Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not in what you think you know. Acknowledge him in everything you do and he will direct your path.”
“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture” (Psalm 37: 3)
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
