God is our Creator

Romans 1: 20 “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

Welcome to the Book of Romans! Today we begin our journey of discovery through this epistle. In this epistle, Paul does not only attempt to inform us but to transform the church through his Holy Spirit-inspired teachings.

Our verse above simply states that no human being has any excuse whatsoever not to know God and believe in his existence because God has revealed his eternal and invisible nature through his creation. Creation is NOT God! God is the Creator. But God, through the works of His Mighty hands, has deliberately made himself visible somehow through it.

First, he revealed himself through his Son Jesus Christ, who came into the world to save us from our sins. Jesus Christ is God incarnate, the Living Word became flesh and dwelled among us. (John 1: 14). God is a personal and relational God. Even though he is eternal and infinite, he has made himself knowable, accessible, and approachable to us through his word and through his creation.

The Book of Hebrews says this about Jesus Christ. “He is the radiance of God’s glory, the exact representation of his being” (Hebrews 1: 3).

How can anybody deny the existence of God when we live in a universe that is so ordered and fine-tuned? The planet earth we live on is suspended in space and it is 94 million miles away from the sun. Any inch closer, we melt and any inch farther, we freeze. Can this be an accident of nature? No wonder the psalmist says, “The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his mighty hands” (Psalm 19:1).

The most certain and universal of all scientific principles is the law of cause and effect. Every single effect first had a cause that can be traced to a previous effect from another cause, and so on.  But where did it begin?  It all started with a single First Cause—the God who is above and existed before all other causes.

I pray that as we enjoy life here on earth, we will begin to appreciate the power of God’s creativity and the richness of his diversity in his observable creation.

Please know that you are a created being and you have a Creator you are ultimately accountable!

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
